About

Hello again,

I’m Tex Barnes (she/they). I make games, often working under the solo name Neighbourhood Snake. I am primarily a Designer/Programmer but I often work as a generalist and can produce 3d and 2d art.

I have a Bachelors in Games and Interactive Environments at QUT, was part of Screen Queensland’s 2024 Residency program, and have developed a fair number of personal projects in my spare time. I’m interested in designing novel mechanics and unique player experiences. I want to push the medium in different ways, and interrogate what we take for granted about games, genre, and design.

I am currently developing Key Fairy, a hand-drawn, pacifist, folkloric bullet-hell, with support from Screen Queensland and Screen Australia.
